The Federal Government has introduced a new Livestock Development Policy aimed at transforming Nigeria’s agriculture, strengthening food security, and improving rural livelihoods. The announcement came during the FAO Global Forum for Animal Feed and Feed Regulators in Rome, where Minister Idi Mukhtar Maiha represented Nigeria.
The policy focuses on upgrading feed and fodder systems, promoting innovation and technology adoption, and creating opportunities for farmers, processors, and investors across the livestock value chain.
